Christmas is coming!

So it finally hit me that Christmas is coming and there's nothing I can do to slow that down.

This is our first Christmas as a married couple and we are very excited to be spending it with my inlaws. Although, I am less excited that this means we have to travel to northern Saskatchewan to do it. It's cold there. Really cold. No, seriously, I don't think you understand how ridiculously cold it is.

Anyways, that aside, we decided we wanted a Christmas tree for our own place even though we wont be nuzzled around it on Christmas day. Mostly we love the aroma and the atmosphere that our little tree gives us in our cozy basement suite. Also, it reminds us that Christmas is indeed coming and that we better make sure we have all the gifts that we need pretty darn soon.

This is our tree in all it's glory:

We even bought lights, garlands and bobbles to put on our tree. This was quite the initial investment. If you know anyone getting married before/during/or just after the Christmas season, I think a great thing to get them would be a little Christmas package because you dont think about these things when you get married... you take for granted that these sorts of things just lie about the house all year.

Anyways, what we bought for our little tree, who's name is Linus (becuase we were listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas CD whilst we decorated), wasn't quite enough. At present our little tree looks like this:

Tomorrow I will buy more lights and garlands.

Poor Linus. Don't worry friend, soon we will have you glowing and sparkling.

As per Rachel's *blink blink* blog entry, I bring you the paramedic thought of the day:

If someone is hurt or sick right outside of a hospital enterance, why dont you just take them in to the hospital? Don't call an ambulance to come from 10 blocks aways when really they could walk to the hospital door. All we will do is take their name and address, walk them up to the hospital door ourselves and then send them a $54 bill for our troubles.

A much-belated Merry Christmas to the two of you, and a Happy New Year as well. Charlie Brown!
